If you follow any couponing sites or are regularly searching for deals or cash back apps, you may have heard of Ibotta but you may not understand what it is.Ibotta is a free mobile cash back shopping app that is available for most Apple and Android devices. You can select available offers by performing easy tasks like watching a short video (usually 30 seconds or less) or taking a quick survey.
Proof of Purchase
Ibotta offers three methods of proving that you purchased an eligible product. The first is by use of your receipt so keep those receipts! Once your shopping trip is complete, simply either scan or take a picture of your receipt from an eligible merchant. This method seems to vary somewhat by merchant and item. Some merchants/items require that you also scan the bar code on the item (rare in my experience). Some stores (like Walmart) have a transaction bar code at the bottom of your receipt that you can scan and the app will then find the eligible items that you have selected from that transaction and give you the option to verify. One more thing to note here, pay attention to sizes or variations of the product. If in doubt, you can check the product's bar code from within the app to make sure it qualifies.
